Is Courtney Act going to be the next Graham Norton?
The former Drag Race contestant is following in RuPaul’s footsteps and is getting her own late-night talk show, The Courtney Act Show, set to debut on Channel 4 in the U.K.
The series is being called the world’s first “dragazine show,” and will feature “an array of celebrity guests, studio items, and music numbers.”
“This is my show and I say come on in, all you heroic misfits, those of you who are a bit chipped around the edges…I want to welcome you all,” said the Australian queen.
“You bring the open minds and I’ll bring the open bar and we’ll meet in the middle for a gay old time!”
Courtney Act (whose real name is Shane Jenek), was a runner up on Drag Race Season 6, but earlier this year she won Celebrity Big Brother U.K., proving herself to be a fan favorite, educating her fellow housemates on LGBT and trans issues, and even having a bromance with former Apprentice star Adam Brady, who thought Courtney was “hot”—even though he is straight.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the pilot for The Courtney Act Show was filmed back in May, but a premiere date has not yet been announced.
Courtney’s new hosting gig explains why she recently jumped the pond, and moved to London from L.A.
Hopefully The Courtney Act Show will eventually air stateside as well.
