Job Summary : Marketing Co-ordinator

The Role

Marketing Co-ordinator reports directly to the Managing Director. This person will be responsible for creating marketing plans including: advertising, promotions, publicity, social media and media buying for In The Dark Presents concerts & tours and our venue Mary’s Poppin. The Marketing Co-ordinator needs to track spends and allocate funds for individual show budgets. Additionally, the Marketing Co-ordinator needs to be able to build strong relationships and communicate with many partners throughout Australia & New Zealand.

Additionally, the Marketing Co-ordinator needs to:

  1. Be very familiar with Rupaul’s Drag Race (Hit US TV show)
  2. Be very familiar with the GLBTQI community in Australia & NZ
  3. Curate relationship building efforts with key media and local influencers
  4. Be familiar with live concert marketing and event planning
  5. Prepare and execute unique, comprehensive marketing and promotional campaigns for ITD concerts within a designated territory
  6. Implement digital marketing & social media strategies including the distribution of targeted e-cards, bi-weekly newsletters to the ITD database & social media engagement/content management
  7. Create brand marketing plans and identify strategic marketing partners and opportunities
  8. Work with other team members to coordinate effective promotions and take advantage of related promotional inventory
  9. Buy media including, but not limited to, digital, social, radio, TV, print and outdoor
  10. Develop, monitor and adjust advertising budgets as needed
  11. Coordinate street team and grassroots marketing efforts with local market contacts
  12. Craft, distribute and track press releases to media outlets
  13. Work closely with the team to create and implement ticketing promotions and programs
  14. Assist in the development and fulfillment of sponsorship programs
  15. Coordinate pre-show/day of show press with independent publicists and managers
  16. Create, develop, and implement additional content for dark nights including but not limited to local live showcases, club nights, concert tours, cabaret shows and our own venue Mary’s Poppin.
  17. Plan and execute pre and post-show events in and around the venue
  18. Capture real-time, night of show coverage for venue marketing and social channels


  1. 6-8 years of experience in entertainment marketing, show marketing background a necessity
  2. Experience managing and building social channels for a brand
  3. Strong computer skills
  4. Creative and proactive thinker
  5. Team-oriented with a collaborative work approach
  6. Results-focused and solution-oriented mindset
  7. Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written
  8. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  9. Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve independently
  10. Graphic design experience a plus
  11. This is a fast-paced office. Ideal candidates will have extensive music knowledge, show marketing experience, familiarity with the market, a thick skin and able to work at a fast pace.
