Get the Tea on the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 12 Virtual Reunion and Finale
This week’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 12 marks the final instalment before the reunion and finale. With most of the country currently on lockdown due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, fans were wondering how Mama Ru would pull off the massive event that the finale extravaganza has become over the past few seasons.
VH1 finally spilled the tea on the remaining episodes of Season 12, announcing that the reunion and finale will be—like pretty much everything else in 2020—virtual events.
The reunion will air next Friday, May 22, and is being described as a “virtual slumber party” hosted by RuPaul where the girls will kiki about all of the drama that went down this season.
Ru will also ask about their lives during quarantine and the season’s most shocking moments, and answer some questions from fans.
Then, the finale will air the following week on Friday, May 29. The virtual event will use “innovative technology that highlights the creativity of the queens.” The final contestants will compete in a “revolutionary” lip-sync battle for the crown.
Season 11 winner Yvie Oddly will return to help crown this year’s winner, and there will be special celebrity guests making appearances throughout the night. Nina West, Season 11’s Miss Congeniality, will also be on hand to crown this year’s Miss Congeniality and share a surprise for her other Season 11 sisters.
Not even a global pandemic can stop these queens!
